Daniel “Danny” Parthia Metcalf of Columbus, died Thursday, May 21, 2026 at his home.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 4500 St. Mary’s Road, Columbus, GA at the pavilion according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA 31907.

Born and raised in Columbus, Danny graduated in 1980 from Kendrick High School. After graduation, he attended Jacksonville State University and Auburn University. Danny left Auburn to be a caregiver for his mother, father and other family members.

Danny was a kind and loving person who was always willing to help anyone who needed help. He was someone who loved and cared wholeheartedly, not only about people, but animals as well including his cherished pets.

He will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews who will cherish the memories made from his constant willingness to spend time with them. He would make up unique games, play baseball, football, or whatever the children wanted him to do. He was their funcle (fun uncle) showing his love for each one with unwavering support. Family was everything to Danny from lunches with his brothers on a regular basis to holidays and special events spent with family.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Manford and Luenette Metcalf and his brother John Metcalf.

He is survived by his brothers, Manford (Sonja) Metcalf and Gary (Dawn) Metcalf, his nephew, Johnathan Metcalf, his nieces Niki (Pablo) Bobadilla, Kitrina Bush, Gracie Metcalf, Emily (Sean) Hadley, Angela (Tim) Fitzpatrick, and Abigail Metcalf, great-nephews Donnie Bush, Ford Bobadilla, Joaquin Bobadilla, and great-nieces Adriana Bush, Kylie Bush and Nora Bobadilla, sister-in-law Donna Metcalf, Aunt Barbara Cooper and a host of cousins.
