David Hinton Albritton

David Hinton Albritton, 66, of Columbus, Georgia, lost his battle to kidney cancer on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
A private service will be held at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Reverend Robert Beckum officiating. A visitation will be held for family and friends on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Albritton was born March 25, 1953 in Columbus, Georgia to Hinton Phalem Albritton and Earline Flowers Albritton. He served in the U.S. Air Force and later retired as a Field Engineer with Unisys Corporation. Mr. Albritton loved sports and was a big fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves. He coached Little League sports for many years including boys baseball and later girls softball at American Little League. Mr. Albritton enjoyed all home improvement projects and woodworking in his home workshop. His family could always rely on him to "fix" anything. Mr. Albritton was also known for his great sense of humor and quick wit.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Kathy Hamilton Albritton, of Columbus, Georgia, daughters, Ashley Albritton Pezold (John) of Columbus, Georgia and Lindsey Albritton Sheldon (Weston) of Fortson, Georgia, sister, Wanda Albritton Dean (Danny) of Midland, Georgia, twin brother and best friend, Dennis Hollis Albritton of Columbus, Georgia, grandchildren, Eleanor Adele Pezold, John David "Jack" Pezold, III, Hamilton Lewis Pezold, Charlotte Ann Sheldon, Weston Gaines Sheldon, and a favorite canine companion, "Bentley", as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to The Kidney Cancer Association www.kidneycancer.org or to St. Luke School, 318 11th Street, Columbus, Georgia 31901.
