David W. Blackwell, born on April 25, 1962, in Columbus, Georgia, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, at Bethany Hospice. He lived a life marked by passion, dedication, and deep commitment to family and community.

David was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time fishing, embracing the tranquility that the water provided, and enjoyed the excitement and camaraderie of dirt track racing. A devoted fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, his enthusiasm for his favorite team was contagious to all who knew him.

Born into the loving family of James (Jimmy) Blackwell and Jackie Blackwell, David experienced profound loss with the passing of his parents as well as his brother, James (Jimbo) Blackwell. Despite these heartaches, he remained deeply connected to those closest to him.

David is survived by his beloved children, Amanda Blackwell Gallo and Adam Blackwell, who were his pride and joy. His strong familial bonds extended to his sisters, Wendy Hope and Pam Higginbotham, along with their husbands, Kyle Hope and John Higginbotham, who provided much support and love.

Throughout his life, David was known for his kind spirit, unwavering loyalty, and the warmth he shared with family and friends. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who cherished him, a testament to a life well lived.
