Donald Frank Lang, 81, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. David Howle officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Lang was born July 7, 1935 in Guntersville, AL son of the late Gurtis and Alma Buchanan Lang. He graduated from Troy State University and retired after 20 years from the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant having served in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. After he retired from the military, he worked for the Civil Service. Mr. Lang was a member and a deacon of Edgewood Baptist Church and loved hunting, fishing and woodworking.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Carolyn C. Lang of Columbus, GA, 4 sons, Greg Lang (Janet) of Midland, GA, Michael Lang (Tracy) of Canton, GA, Thomas Lang (Isabella) of DuPont, WA and Steven Lang (Cindy) of Columbus, GA, brother, Leon Lang of Guntersville, AL, 9 grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Donovan, Jacob, David, Tiffany, Jennifer, Heather and Danielle, and 5 great-grandchildren, Harlynn, Brantley, Wyatt, Noah and Alex.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to the Edgewood Baptist Church Building Fund 3564 Forrest Rd. Columbus, GA 31907.
