Donald Clifford Padgett

Donald Clifford Padgett, 76, of Midland, Georgia passed away at his home on Saturday, October 1, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Donald, fondly known as Don, was born on December 18th, 1945, in Quitman, GA. to the late Joel Clifford Padgett and Julia Bishop Padgett of Valdosta, GA.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 29, 2022 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Mickey Adams officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery.

Don was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid sports fan and played golf for almost 40 years with a group of very special friends.  Don graduated from Valdosta State University in 1968 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He served in the United States Air Force for many years. He then worked as a school teacher for a short time before starting his career as a Claims Adjuster for GAB and Auto Owners from which he retired in 2006. He was an active member of Piney Grove Baptist Church for many years.

Don is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-seven years, Brenda Voight Padgett of Midland, GA, sons Brian Padgett (Kim) of Midland GA, and Kevin Padgett (Megan) of Smiths Station, AL, step-daughters Traci Tucker (Jeannette) of Phenix City, AL and Allison Tucker (Tommy) of Salem, AL, a  sister, Nancy Holtzclaw (Charles) of Valdosta, GA, and granddaughters, Delaney Padgett (18), Chandler Padgett (14), Savanna Tucker (17), and grandson, Brooks Bennett (18).  He also leaves behind his niece Stephanie Calhoun (Alex) of Valdosta, nephew Chuck Holtzclaw (Marie) of Homerville, GA, and several great nephews.

Flowers will be accepted at McMullen Funeral Home or a monetary donation can be made in Don’s name to Piney Grove Baptist Church, 20 Hwy 315, Fortson, GA. 31808.
