Donald “Donnie” Edwin Tillery, 86 Cataula, Georgia passed away peacefully at his home on October 25, 2025 surrounding by his wife and his children.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Bethesda Baptist Church, 3830 GA-HWY 85, Ellerslie, Georgia, 31807 with Reverend David Helms and Dr. Steve Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
Donnie was born October 27, 1938, to Clyde Edwin and Mildred Ramsey Tillery in Columbus, Georgia. Donnie retired in management from Tom’s Foods where he worked for over 44 years. He was an avid Auburn Tigers fan and spent many Saturdays tailgating and watching his Tigers play. He loved golfing, hunting, fishing, and bowling, but most importantly he loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Donnie was actively involved with his church, Bethesda Baptist where he served as a deacon and also taught Sunday school. Additionally, he was involved with the building committee at the church, the choir and the Upward sports program.
Donnie is survived by his wife of 65 years, Martha Tillery of Cataula, Ga; children, Selina Church (Terry) of Midland, Ga, Mark E. Tillery (Lisa) of Smiths Station, Al. and Natalie Stevens (James “Bubba”) of Phenix City; grandchildren, Allen Church (Tanisha) of Fletcher, NC, Elizabeth Broxson of Phenix City, AL, Spencer Broxson of Phenix City, AL, Josh Stevens (Kennedy) of Rockwall, TX, Amanda Kittrell of Phenix City, AL Haley Kittrell of Phenix City, AL and a great-grandchild Aria Stevens of Rockwall, TX. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Jack Franklin of Smiths Station, AL.
Other than his parents Donnie is preceded in death by his sisters, Connie Robinson and Peggy Franklin and a granddaughter, Kristen Stevens.
