Doris Jean McCullohs was born in Americus, GA on May 8, 1936, to the late Luther and Sarah Butler. She moved to Columbus, Ga in 1953, met the love of her life, Neal McCullohs Jr., in May of 1955, and married him 3 months later. Neal died in December of 2022, and she was forever heart broken. Doris and Neal had two children, J Neal McCullohs III ( wife Cathy, who they took as their daughter) and Robert B McCullohs. They had three grandchildren, Mary Peregrine, Neal McCullohs IV, and Robert McCullohs Jr. In Addition, they had 7 great grand children, Noah, Taylor, and Camden Peregrine, and Carter, Walker, and Charlotte McCullohs, and James McCullohs.

During her lifetime Doris touched so many lives through her volunteering. She never said no when someone asked for her help. One thing she absolutely loved was children. Doris touched the lives of so many children and was a second grandmother to many of them. Doris was very charitable. She never turned down the opportunity to give to the church, the PMV Volunteer fire department, and other local charities. Doris loved being a member of the Pine Mountain Valley community.

She had so many friends and people frequently stopped in to check. She said this was a little piece of Heaven. Doris was a member of Chipley Women’s Club and Rosevelt Memorial Church. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, starting at 11:00 am with visitation to follow at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
