Dorothy Angeline Hood Brown, 87, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, May 12, 2016 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Pastor Dennis Watson of Harps Crossing Baptist Church, Fayetteville, GA officiating. A private family interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brown was born November 27, 1928 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late John Calvin Hood and Mary Angie Land Hood. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and the foundation of the family. She was a member of Mt Zion Baptist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jackson Brown, Jr.
Survivors include her two daughters, Mary Kathryn Brown of Columbus, GA and Karen Brown Stewart and her husband Alan Fergus Stewart Jr of Dawson, GA, her son, Thomas Jackson Brown, III and his wife Tanya C. Brown of Fayetteville, GA, a sister Alice Hood Phillips and her husband Robert W. Phillips, SR of Mooresville, NC , five grandchildren, Heather B Lawson (Josh) of Fayetteville, GA, Kate Stewart Seutter (Jose) of Silver Springs, FL, Thomas Jackson Brown IV (Marianne) of Leesburg, GA, Erin Faye Brown of Fayetteville, GA, Alan Fergus Stewart III of Dawson, GA, three step grandchildren, Evan Stuart Trivett of Newnan, GA, Grace Caroline Trivett of Fayetteville, GA and Austin Ross Trivett of Fayetteville, GA, four great grandchildren, Kira Brooklyn Lawson and John Carter Lawson of Fayetteville, GA, Olivia Renee Brown of Leesburg, GA and Eleanor Grace Trivett of Newnan, GA and a host of other relatives and friends.
