Earnest Franklin Davis of Columbus, Georgia passed peacefully away at his home on July 23, 2025.

Earnest was born in Slocomb, Alabama May 27th, 1941 to the late Allen Davis and Ruby Horne Davis. Earnest graduated from Baker High School in 1959 and the University Of Georgia College Of Pharmacy in 1965. Earnest accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior when he was 12 years old. He served as a Sunday school teacher, RA’s leader, usher, brotherhood president, and Deacon at Gentian Baptist Church.

He retired from CVS Pharmacy after serving the Columbus area for 47 years as a pharmacist. He loved helping people and making them feel better.

He loved watching the Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs. He was an avid bowler and bowled a sanctioned 297 scratch game at age of 75. He loved to fish and he has fished almost every pond, lake, creek, or river within 30 miles of Columbus. But he was best at being the greatest Dad.

But the love of his life hands down was his family, especially his wife Helen Davis for 60 years with whom he enjoyed her company after retirement, casino hopping in Biloxi and Gulfport. He had the best time winning large jackpots and eating at the buffet in Island View.

He is survived by his 2 siblings, 4 children, 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Siblings, Craig Davis (Jeanie Davis) and Delwanda Thurmond. Children, Dee Davis Cruz (Jerry Cruz), Earnest Franklin Davis Jr. (Nikki Davis), Jodi Davis Loudermilk (Joseph Matthew Loudermilk), Jamie Davis Wilson (Wesley Wilson). Grandchildren, Drew Osbon (Mallory Osbon), Emily Davis, Earnest Franklin Davis III, Joseph Matthew Loudermilk Jr, Julia Loudermilk, Lydia Loudermilk, Amelia Loudermilk, Victoria Loudermilk, Ashby Wilson, Briley Wilson and great grandchildren Kenzleigh Osbon and Kylor Osbon.
