Elisabeth Koch of Columbus, Georgia, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother,
passed away in Columbus on September 24, 2025.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 8, 2025 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private interment will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery.
Elisabeth was born in Bamberg, Germany on March 6, 1939. Elisabeth dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband of 48 years and their two children. She was loved by all for her generous and loving spirit, her humor, as well as her delicious cheesecake and stollen. Elisabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Johann Koch (September 1, 1931 – January 24, 2011).
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Cullefer and her husband James of Fortson; granddaughter, Savannah Williams and her husband Ryan and great-granddaughter Ruby of Rutledge, Tennessee; her son, Greg Koch and wife Pam of Atlanta and grandson, Matthew Koch of Nashville, Tennessee and granddaughter Anna Koch of Brooklyn, New York; and her sister, Ingrid Krapp and brother, Norbert Hofmann and their families of Bamberg, Germany.
A public memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Columbus Hospice.
