William Jackson Chittum passed away Tuesday evening, 3 May 2016, at home surrounded by his wife, children, grand-children and great grand children. William was a wonderful father and husband, who gave his last full measure of devotion to his wife of 68 years, Elizabeth Chittum, watching over her as she succumbed to Alzheimer's Disease. He was a man of character, integrity and honesty. He was a true American - a patriot, a Soldier, a law enforcement officer, a veteran.
Elizabeth Charlotte Chittum passed away Wednesday morning, at home surrounded by loved ones, following her husband into the presence of God! Her long battle with Alzheimer's is finally over. Elizabeth was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandparent, a homemaker with huge hospitality and endless love; she was creative and full of life - an extraordinary seamstress and a talented pottery maker.
Elizabeth and William spent their last day together, hand in hand, side by side, and heart to heart. They were only separated for a few short hours as one and then the other slipped quietly into eternity, at peace and finally home. God is in His gracious mercy gave them long life and now He has given them eternal life. No more tears, no suffering, no sorrow.
