Elizabeth A. Meacham, 85, of Columbus, GA died Monday, June 19, 2017 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, June 23, 2017 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Thad Smith officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Meacham was born July 14, 1931 in Forest County, MS daughter of the late James G. Jones and Katherine O'Flynn Melder. She was a homemaker and was a longtime member of Sherwood United Methodist Church and also Morningside Baptist Church. Mrs. Meacham was also a member of the Eastern Star.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Meacham, son, James Michael Meacham, brother, Jesse H. Melder, step-brothers, Prentiss D. Melder and Yvonne Ingram, step-sisters, Melba Rhame and Mary Lou Davis, and step-mom, Shirley Jones.
Survivors include her daughters, Deborah Phinazee of Cochran, GA and Kathy Powell of Columbus, GA, brother, Martin G. Jones (Cathy) of Long Beach, MS, step-sisters, Angela McKinnis of Brooklyn, MS and Margaret Ann Dollar of Lafayette, LA, 3 grandchildren, Robert Phinazee (Michelle), Frances Powell and Willis Powell, 6 great-grandchildren, Zackary Phinazee, Eli Phinazee, Graycen Phinazee, Isaac Phinazee, Elizabeth Banks Black and Wesley Powell Black, and step great-granddaughter, Clara Rossi.
