Ellen Bickerstaff

Ellen Rambo Bickerstaff, 81, died Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Columbus Hospice House. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 4, 2022 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, with Reverend Craig Bowers officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ellen was born March 28, 1941 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Charles and Marie Norris Rambo. She graduated from Columbus High School and the University of Georgia. She taught second grade at Brookestone School for many years, as well as served on various community organizations. She was a member of Wynnbrook Baptist Church and the Naomi Class. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Jefferson Bickerstaff; son, Howard Jefferson Bickerstaff, Jr.

Survivors include her son, Charles Daniel Bickerstaff of Pine Mountain, GA; grandsons, Jacob Daniel of Pine Mountain, GA, Caleb Matthew of Orange Beach, AL, Luke Jefferson of Pine Mountain, GA, Seth Carson of Pine Mountain, GA, brother, Charles Norris Rambo, Sr. of Columbus, GA, and William Walter Rambo of Americus, GA., nephew, Charles Norris Rambo, Jr. (Laura Kate), niece, Elizabeth “Beth” Ann Bickerstaff of Hamilton, GA and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
