Elvin Hayes

Elvin Dewitt Hayes, a beloved husband and devoted friend, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025. He was born on December 26, 1939, in Cottonwood, Alabama, and dedicated his life to his family and his passions.

After earning his bachelor's degree in engineering, Elvin's greatest fulfillment came from his personal passions. He loved the tranquility of fishing and the thrill of a good game, cheering on his favorite teams, the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs.

Elvin is survived by his loving wife, Glenda Gayle Hayes. He often spoke of his favorite memories, especially the peaceful rides along the rivers with his wife and their beloved dogs, Echo and Little Man. The holidays spent with close family in North Carolina were also among his most treasured times.

A small gathering of close friends and family will be held at a later date to honor Elvin's life.
