Erika Stefani Nestler Suloski, 85, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving daughters.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 12, 2025 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Born in Czechoslovakia on October 22, 1939, Erika was the daughter of Franz and Martha Rudolf Nestler. Her family survived a work camp in Nazi Germany during World War II, an experience that shaped her resilience and strength throughout her life. On March 25, 1958, she married the love of her life, Joseph Suloski, a United States Army soldier, who brought her to the United States where they shared 53 years of marriage before his passing.

Erika was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, her parents, her beloved daughter Sharon, her brother Herbert Nestler, and her sister Erna Schon.

She is survived by her daughters Sandra DiCesaris, Tina Weatherholtz, and Eri Suloski; her brother Reinhold Nestler (Tatjana) and sister Maria Holz, both of Germany; her grandchildren, Jennifer Dobbs (BJ), Chad Weatherholtz (Melanie), Jonathan DiCesaris (Summer), Kenny Weatherholtz, Leo DiCesaris (LeighAnn), Andrew Weatherholtz (Brittany), Lily Zimmerman (Thorne), Buffy Frazier, and Stormie Fizer; and 20 great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply.

Erika had a vibrant spirit and a wonderful sense of humor. She loved spending time outdoors, especially gardening, and was known for her delicious German cooking. She was an avid walker, a regular at the gym, and a devoted grandmother. Her deep care for others extended beyond her family — Erika spent over 20 years working with adults with disabilities and was a long-time member of St. Anne Catholic Church. Erika's love for cats was legendary; she made sure that even her family members' cats had been to the vet, demonstrating her caring nature extended to all creatures.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Paws Humane Society or Pats Rescue Cats.

Erika's legacy of love, strength, and laughter will live on in the many lives she touched.
