Everett (AKA: Cookie Man, Cookie Monster, Big Dawg, Big Daddy Poppa Punk, Buddy, Friend, Paw-Paw and Daddy) Brock 73, of Columbus, GA, passed away Monday, December 21, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 2:00 to 6:00 PM at The Firemen’s Lodge, 6655 Lynch Rd, Columbus, GA 31907. In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, facemasks and social distancing will be required for those attending the services.
Mr. Brock was born April 09, 1947 in Cassville, MO. son of the late Robert L. and Arvella Mae Robbins Stringer. Everett ran a cookie route for Murray Cookies and Kellogg’s in Columbus, Georgia for over twenty years where he was infamously known as “Cookie Man”. After retiring from his cookie route, he was most commonly known as “Paw-Paw”. He loved his kids and grandkids more than anything this world. He was also an avid outdoorsman, in which he loved nothing more to fish and hunt with those he loved. Some of his most memorable times in the outdoors were spending time with and teaching his grandkids Kaleigh and Kyler how to fish, how to shoot a gun and how to hunt. Everett also enjoyed tinkering on his beloved Chevrolet corvette and truck. The words “take it easy” or “slow down” were never quite in his vocabulary. Everett was also the problem-solver nothing broken or hard to put together was too hard for him and he always had a way. He never met a stranger and could talk to anyone he crossed paths with. To know him was to love him.
Survivors include his beautiful daughters, Angie (Randy) Crenshaw and Danielle Gunn (Justin Hollums), sisters, Evelyn (Bud) Arnold and Ida Mae (Conrad) Black, grandchildren; Kaleigh and Kyler Gunn. He also has four-legged grand dogs and a great grand-dog he loved as his own Brock and Izzy Crenshaw and Willow and Moone Gunn.
