Frank Paul Karastury, Jr.

Paul Karastury, 61 of Columbus, Georgia, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Piedmont Hospital. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday May 29, 2025, in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private burial will take place at Parkhill Cemetary.

Mr. Karastury was born August 1, 1963, at Ft Benning, Georgia, son of Frank P. Karastury Sr and the late Brenda Hightower Karastury. Other than his mother he is preceded in death by his father-in-law Skip Lassiter. He is survived by his loving wife Paige Lassiter Karastury, two daughters Mindy Karastury, Nicole Karastury (Drew), and stepson Hunter Adams (MJ), his grandchildren, Paisley Elliott, Jaxxon Thorne, Atlas Thorne, Lakin Harris, and Paxton Harris, one brother Jon C. Karastury (Jamie), mother-in-law Linda Lassiter, lifelong friend Kathy Flynn, as well as many other loving family members and friends.

Paul worked for TIYA Support Services at Ft Benning for 20 years. He loved and cherished his children, and grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Grumpy.” Paul was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, arrowhead collecting, and he loved to make people laugh. Paul was cherished by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
