Georgia Tharpe, 74 of Columbus died Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Muscogee Manor Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 P.M., Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Riverdale Cemetery with Rev. Hank Avera officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Ms. Tharpe was born June 5, 1938 in Dothan, Alabama daughter of the late Talmadge P. Thorpe and Florence Evans Thorpe. She attended Trinity Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her sisters, Willodean T. Swensen and brother-in-law Edward of Newville, AL and Julia Gantt and brother-in-law Bobby of Ashville, NC; nephew and nieces, Gus Swensen of Columbus, GA, Pat Brown of Phenix City, AL, Pam Watson and Cathy Stanley both of Canton, NC; great nephews and nieces, Joe Brown, Angela Brown Justice, Shannon DeHart, Brandon Mull, Dylan Inman and great great nephew, Matthew Justice.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the North Wing Staff at Muscogee Manor Nursing Home for the loving care of their sister.
