Gerlinde Belcher, 84 of Columbus, GA passed away at her home, Thursday October 15, 2026 with her loving family by her side. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 23, 2026 at 2:00 in the chapel at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907, with Rev. Ed Rollins officiating. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Gerlinde was born January 23, 1942 in Czechoslovakia to the late Emil Komarek and Albine Fischer Komarek. She was the “heart and soul” of the family raising their five children while her beloved husband of 67 years, Jimmy Dale Belcher, Sr., who preceded her in death served in the United States Military for twenty plus years.

She is survived by her daughters: Viola Best and Susanne Summerfield both of Columbus, GA. Her sons: Charles Belcher (Colleen) of Seale, AL, Randolph “Randy” Belcher of LaGrange, GA and Jimmy Belcher, Jr. (Kathy) of Eagle River, AK. She had thirteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
