Gibson Johnston Pryor, 56, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, February 15, 2013 at St. Peter United Methodist Church 6507 Moon Rd. Columbus, GA 31909 with Reverend Larry Rollins officiating. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, GA. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Mr. Pryor was born July 1, 1956 in Swainsboro, GA and grew up in Fitzgerald, GA. He was the son of Gerald Wilcox Pryor (Jackie) of Fitzgerald, GA and the late Rita Johnston Pryor. Mr. Pryor graduated in 1974 from Fitzgerald High School and graduated from Valdosta State University with a degree in Marketing. He also attended the University of Georgia. He worked for Solid Source Premier Realty where he was the recipient of the Lifetime Circle of Excellence Award. He was an Eagle Scout and served many years as Scoutmaster. Mr. Pryor was a member of St. Peter United Methodist Church. He enjoyed waterskiing, bicycling, and motorcycle touring with his sons.

Other than his mother, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Jarratt Pryor, Catherine Wilcox Pryor, and Mr. and Mrs. John Gibson Johnston.

Survivors other than his father and step-mother include his wife of 36 years, Malinda West Pryor of Columbus, GA; four sons, Gibson Johnston Pryor, Jr. (Amber) of Cumming, GA, West Wilcox Pryor (Merritt) of Columbus, GA, James Russell Pryor (Lisa) of Pittsburgh, PA and William Owen Pryor (fiancée, Jerrica Day) of Columbus, GA, two brothers, Gerald Hinton Pryor of Douglas, GA and James Jarratt Pryor, II of Bethlehem, GA, sister, Rebecca Pryor Anderson of Fitzgerald, GA, three granddaughters, Isabella Rose Pryor of Cumming, GA, Helena West Pryor and Catherine Wilcox Pryor both of Columbus, GA, and his beloved deaf Dalmatian, Cy. He was awaiting the birth of his first grandson in March.

Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to the St. Peter United Methodist Church Building Fund 6507 Moon Rd. Columbus, GA 31909.
