Glenn Lowell Phillips, of Columbus, Ga. passed away at his home on April 3, 2026. Born on November 6, 1945 to Glenn Dalton Phillips and Clara Thomas Phillips. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
As a husband to Brenda for 62 years, he shared a life rooted in love, partnership, and unwavering devotion to her. The bond that they built was a cornerstone of the family he cherished so deeply. For many years, they enjoyed playing golf at Maple Ridge, until his health began to decline and he was not able to play. In spite of that, he was always ready to visit with people he met while walking our neighborhood, and had a unique ability to always make people laugh. He loved spending time outside, always admiring the beauty of nature.
He worked as a Purchasing Manager for over 35 years at Bell Fiber Products. He was best known for his expertise in buying at the best price for his company’s interest, while making multiple friends of the salesmen and saleswomen who called on him. He was highly respected in the business world because of his integrity and ability to “finish a deal”.
He found peace and strength in his faith, faithfully attending church at Evangel Church for over 50 years. He was deeply loved and respected by the members of his Sunday School Class, and he loved gospel music. He always had a smile on his face, and was kind to every person he met.
Some of his happiest times after their children had moved away from home were travelling all over the world with Brenda. They always enjoyed meeting new people and taking on new adventures.
Above all, he was a loving grandfather and devoted husband whose legacy lives on in the traditions he created, the values he instilled, and the love he gave so freely.
He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda, two sons, Todd Phillips and Clay Phillips, a daughter, Allison Cunningham and her husband, Jim, two grandchildren, Kyle and wife Amanda, and Glynn, and husband, Britt Peace. He also had 3 great-grandchildren, Eloise Cunningham, Lanie Peace, and Walker Peace. He is also survived by a sister, Carmen Evans-Swan and husband Sandy Swan, nephew Joseph, and niece, Cybil.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 07, 2026 at Evangel Church with Pastor Paul Thomas and officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 PM at the church. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, we would suggest donations may be made to Columbus Hospice for the exceptional service they provided his family during a time of need.
