Gloria Griffin Godwin, 77, of Columbus, GA passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, intellect, and love for her family and community.

Gloria, a proud native of Atlanta, was born November 19, 1948 at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta to Ellen LaTrece Griffin and Fletcher Westbrook Griffin. She graduated from Randolph-Macon College as a member of the Class of 1970, where she developed a lifelong passion for learning and literature. Gloria went on to serve as both a public media specialist and school librarian, a career through which she touched countless lives by fostering a love of reading and knowledge in others.

Gloria is preceded in death by her beloved parents and her twin sister, Gail Finnegan.

She is lovingly remebered by her children, Carolyn Blackburn (Jay) and William Godwin IV; her cherished grandchildren, Jason Blackburn, Chelsea Blackburn, and Christian Blackburn; her brothers, Fletcher W. Griffin (Ann) and William Jeff Griffin (Lori), along with several nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Gloria will be remebered for her quiet strength, her thoughful nature, and her unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she enriched and the love she shared.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
