Nellie Grace Hill of Columbus, Georgia, entered into the arms of her loving Savior on Saturday, May 16, 2026 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, June 5, 2026 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

She was born in Greenville, Alabama, on October 22, 1943, one of 10 children born to Wilton and Ellen Moorer. She was a graduate of Lowndes County High School and Troy State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Later she continued her education with a master’s degree from Columbus College.

Grace met Richard Hill in first grade. They wed in 1966 and were married for 57 years. Grace taught school for 28 years while also raising her own family. She was an active member of Edgewood Church of Christ and a faithful servant of the Lord.

Grace was a dedicated wife, loving mother, and devoted “Mamaw”. Her happiest moments always involved her family. Whether cooking, fishing at Ft. Deposit, pontooning at Lake Harding, gardening, or cheering at school and sporting events, Grace did not miss an opportunity to be with and love her family.

She is survived by her two children: Brad Hill (Cynthia) of Phenix City, AL, and Susan Edmondson (Darby) of Hahira, GA, four grandchildren: Richard Hill III, Tillman Edmondson, Sara Hill, and Grace Edmondson; brother Rex Moorer and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Gentiva Hospice and the staff of Thrive at Green Island for their kindness, support, and care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to Edgewood Church of Christ, 4102 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA 31907.
