Gwen Gamble

Smiths Station, Alabama - Gwendolyn M. Gamble “Gwen”, 82, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Monday, August 24, 2026, at the Bethany House, with loving family by her side. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA 31907, with Pastor Paul Thomas officiating.

Gwen was born July 31, 1944, in Tyndall Field, FL to the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Chilson. She was employed with Dr. Meadors, and later, Dr. Jacobs, at their Podiatry Practice in Columbus, GA, retiring after many decades of dedicated service to both the practice, and their patients. She assisted with many in office procedures, office duties, and, most importantly, patient interaction and care.

Gwen loved her family, living life, making others smile, and above all, Jesus Christ. Her love for Jesus showed in everything she did, and with everyone who was blessed enough to meet and know her. Gwen was a loving and devoted wife to her late husband, Mike, and together, they spent their time spreading God’s love and light to others. Gwen and Mike, before his passing, enjoyed various travels to places all over the world, living many adventures and enjoying life to the fullest. She spoke often of her travels, how she loved the beach, the water, scuba diving, and just living and embracing life and all of its blessings, given by God. Her travels also led her to the Holy Land, which was certainly a gift, and one of her most treasured memories. She was a member of Evangel Church, where she found fellowship and love, and continued to embrace the teachings of Christ, and live in His word.

Gwen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mike Gamble.

Survivors include stepdaughter, Julie Palieps of Panama City, FL, sister, Cheryl Rashkin (Bob) of Lake Worth, FL, nieces Tiffany Roberts (Jim) of Cusseta, GA, Kathy Landrum of Holly Springs, NC, and Samantha Rashkin of Lake Worth, FL, nephews, David Rashkin (Liz) of Jupiter, FL, David Willoughby of Phenix City, AL, and Jeff Willoughby of Smiths Station, AL. Her Great nieces and nephews, whom she adored, and a circle of loving friends.

The family wishes to express a deep, heartfelt gratitude to Sandra Lance and Betty Bass (her bonus “sister”), whose devoted friendship and tireless care has brought great comfort to Gwen and her family. They truly have shown us all what selfless loving care, and Christlike compassion look like.
