SFC (Ret.) Henry Luke Gagnon of Columbus, Georgia passed away on November 2, 2025, at Legacy Reserve at Old Town in Columbus, Georgia, at the age of 82. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Columbus, Georgia. Visitation will be held at the church following the service and last until 12:30 PM. Interment will be held at 1:30 PM EST at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd Columbus GA 31907.

Henry was born June 25, 1943 in Manchester, New Hampshire to the late Geraldine Gagnon Siniawski. A proud veteran, Henry served in the United States Army for over 20 years, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class. His distinguished military career included a tour in Vietnam with the 5th Special Forces Group and service in the Military Police Corps, where he excelled as a K-9 handler. He also played an important role in the Mechanized Infantry. His dedication earned him numerous commendations, including the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, and the Army Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, among other accolades.

After retiring from the military, Henry dedicated himself to his work with the Columbus Consolidated Government for 20 years, where he served as the Deputy Chief of Sanitation Services.

Henry cherished his time spent fishing with his sons and his long-time friends as well as creating lasting memories with his loved ones, especially with his family and beloved pets. His lively spirit and sense of humor will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Henry is survived by his three sons: Scott (Michele) Gagnon of Perry Hall, MD; Jeffrey (Janet) Gagnon of Sandy Springs, GA; and David (Stephanie) Gagnon of Locust Grove, GA. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Alexandra North, Adam Gagnon, and Jackson Gagnon. Additionally, he is survived by his sisters, Karen Slater (Bob) and Gail Johnson, along with many nieces, nephews, and other family members who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Kathleen S. Gagnon, his mother, Geraldine Gagnon Siniawski, and his step-father, Paul Siniawski.
