Henry Herman "Hank” Wilson, 91 of Columbus, GA passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2025 with his loving family by his side.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 Sunday, July 27, 2025 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Ed. Rollins officiating, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Wilson was born June 29, 1934 in Atoka, OK to the late Willie Wilson and Vishtaw Northcutt King. He retired from the US Army as a Sgt. First Class, after honorably serving his country for twenty years. During his time in the army, he served in Ft. Carson, Colorado, Ft. Lewis, Washington, Germany, South Korea, Okinawa, Vietnam and Ft. Benning, GA. After his military service he continued his career with Civil Service as a supply specialist at Lawson Air Field, Ft. Benning, GA. He was an honorable member of the Mt. Herman Masonic Lodge 33* degree, Scottish Rites, the Odd Fellows and member of Southside Baptist Church. He also served in Columbus Concerned Citizens. He was his wife's dedicated caretaker during her final years. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Vernice Brewer Wilson, brothers, Wallace Wilson, Adrian Wilson, sister, Dellora Miles.
Survivors include his daughters, Karen Sue Oakley (William Nestor) of Phenix City, AL and Linda Oakley (Brent Burkey) of Saint Augustine, FL niece, Rita Miles Jones (Robert) of Oklahoma City, Ok, nephews, Dwayne Miles of Ada, OK, Bruce Miles of Decatur, IL and Lyndell Miles also of Oklahoma City, OK, brother, Ray Wilson of Oklahoma City, OK.
