Horace Allen Harper

Our hearts are broken as we share that Horace Allen Harper went home to be with the Lord on October 22, 2025, in Columbus, Georgia. He was born on March 16, 1966, in Germany to the late Harold and Gertrude Harper.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM Thursday, November 6, 2025 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Allen was a proud dad, a loving “Pap,” a brother, and a friend to so many. He was a man of strong faith who loved Jesus with all his heart and raised his children to do the same. If the church doors were open, you could count on him being there, singing his heart out with that beautiful tenor voice God gave him.

He was known for his big personality, contagious sense of humor, and deep knowledge of the Bible. He could make anyone laugh, loved Alabama football (Roll Tide!), and never missed a chance to brag on his kids and grandkids.

Allen is survived by his three children: Blair Phillips (Husband: Brandon Phillips), Bethany Walton (Husband: Quentin Walton), and Bryson Harper (Wife: Hannah Harper); and six grandchildren who meant the world to him: Skyleigh Phillips, Serahni Phillips (who preceded him in death), Slaidon Phillips, Brock Mayhand, Reagan Harper, and Evie Lott.

He is also survived by his siblings Julian Harper, Roy Harper, H.C. Harper, and Carol Schaaf; and preceded in death by his brothers Jimmy Harper and Bill Harper. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Allen dearly and will always remember his laughter and love.

Allen worked for many years in tile and flooring, and while he was proud of his craft, his greatest joy in life came from his family and his faith. He loved hard, laughed often, and truly lived by the Word of God.
