Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at North Highland Church with Rev. Dennis Lacey according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Jack was born in Manchester, GA but lived in New York as a young man and California for most of his life, returning to Georgia in 2000. He was married to Betty Farmer for 41 years and after she passed away, was blessed with another joyful life with Helen Butterfield as his wife for 20 years.
Above all, Jack loved God and built a life and family on biblical principles expressed through Jesus' love. He lived life with a zesty playfulness that was infectious to anyone who was near. He was the ultimate father and grandfather-he loved freely and lived adventurously. Jack influenced many young people as an industrial arts and math high school teacher in Huntington Beach and upon returning to Georgia taught drivers education. He served his church and community as a representative of Christ.
His legacy lives on through 8 children, Gail Kelly (Keith), Leianne Brubaker (Mike), Dennis Butterfield (Gem), Tim Butterfield (Lorie), Janet Fulks (Pat), Gary Storey (Janis), J.R. Storey (Kathy), and Scott Storey (Ann), 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
