Captain Jacko K. Mitchell (Jay), 28, of Atlanta, GA departed Saturday, March 11, 2017. He will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life service will be held 12:00 PM Noon Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Chaplain McDaniel officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be held 1:30 PM Friday at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Jacko was born October 10, 1988 in Springfield, TN son of Jeff Walker and Mary Mitchell Walker. He attended and graduated from Spencer High School, Columbus, GA. Jacko went on to attend Marion Military Institute in Marion, AL. Then continuing to The University of Alabama at Birmingham gradating with a Bachelor degree in business accounting. He started his career as an Accountant for Kinder Morgan then moved on to the Tensor Corporation. He was an U.S. Army Veteran having served in Afghanistan.
Survivors other than his parents include his fiancé Toya C. Jacobs and daughter Talian C. Jacobs. Siblings, Varekko Wynn, Calenta Mitchell and Rodrecus Mitchell, maternal grandparents, Margaret and Albert Mitchell, and his paternal grandparents, Jeff and Carolyn Walker.
