James W. "Jimmy" Blackwell, 75, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Columbus Hospice House.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, May 5, 2017 at Parkhill Cemetery 4161 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Chaplain Daniel Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Blackwell was born September 13, 1941 in Columbus, GA son of the late James Morgan Blackwell and Mary Griffin Blackwell. He worked as a painter and loved to fish and be with his family. He also enjoyed going to the dirt track on Saturday.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Harper Blackwell of Columbus, GA, children, David Blackwell (Carol) of Phenix City, AL, Pam Higginbotham (John) of Phenix City, AL and Wendy Hope (Kyle) of Ft. Mitchell, AL and Jimbo Blackwell (Pam) of Skipperville, AL, sister, Joyce Osbon (Earl) of Columbus, GA, 7 grandchildren, Amanda, Adam, John, James, Jessica, Jamie and Nikki, and 8 great-grandchildren, Siena, John, Walker, Brentleigh, Blakeley, Jacob, Kylie and Liam.
