James Wallace Hammock

James Wallace Hammock 91 of Columbus died Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P. M. Friday, December 20, 2019 at Kirkland Memorial Baptist Church with Reverend Travis Rigsby officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Hammock was born September 2, 1928 in Columbus, GA, son of the late James Raymond Hammock, Sr. and Eva Mae Hubbard Hammock. He retired as a route salesman with Buffalo Rock, formerly Pepsico. Mr. Hammock was a member of the National Guard and Kirkland Memorial Baptist Church.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Jeweldine Kent Hammock, his sister Martha Reed and a brother Horace Hammock.
Survivors include his daughter, Peggy Widgeon (William) of Columbus, one granddaughter, Amy Hutto (Thomas), one great granddaughter, Haven Hutto and a sister Edna Hammock all of Fortson, two brothers, Robert Hammock (Judith) of Midland and Raymond Hammock (Sandra) of Columbus, one sister - in-law, Jeanie McGwire.
