James Albert Harris, 79, of Lumpkin, GA gained his heavenly reward Friday, April 26, 2026 at Piedmont Midtown Hospital with his loving family by his side.

A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, May 1, 2026 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will have a visitation Thursday from 5:00-7:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

James was born July 25, 1946 in Shreveprot, LA to the late Aurtie Keene and Josephine Harris. He proudly served in the US Army and was a product inspector for Charbroil and worked for W.C Bradely Co. He was a member of Bland Memorial Baptist Church. James was a believer and loved to spread the word of God to everyone, he loved to cook, and was a true servant for the Lord.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Harris of Lumpkin, GA; children, Stephanie Harris of Rincon, GA; Regenal Pearce of Charlotte, NC and Ashley Meeks (T.J.) of Phenix City, AL; sister, Prisilla Harris; brother, Aquilla Harris; grandchildren, Sebastain Jones, Chloe Graham, Aubree Bannon, Aldum Bannon, Adalee Bannon, Axul Bannon, Brody Meeks and Olivia Meeks. Multiple nieces and nephews.
