SSG (Ret) James David Hasty 84, of Columbus, Ga. died Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the Columbus Hospice House.
Graveside Services with Full Military Honors will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 29, 2015 at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery with Bro. David Chapman officiating. Friends planning on attending the service are asked to meet at 9:15 A.M. Friday at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus to proceed to the cemetery.
Mr. Hasty was born September 18, 1930 in Meigs, GA son of the late Tommie Lee and Annie Mae Golden Hasty. He retired from the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict and two tours in Vietnam.
Other than his parents, Mr. Hasty was preceded in death by his wife Katharina Anna Hasty and his grandson Jonathan Truett.
Survivors include one son, J.W. Lee Hasty of Denver, CO, three daughters, Anna Rosemarie Gress (Ron) of Fountain, CO, Christel Jean Miller (Paul) of Midland, GA, Terry Lee Hasty of Montgomery, AL, six grandchildren, April Painter, Patricia Kohel, David Barton, Casey Chesser, Nikki Herrington, Brandi Johnson and Lucas Barton and 15 great grandchildren.
