James Tyler Higgins, 29, of Columbus, GA died Friday, September 4, 2020 at his residence in Columbus, GA.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00PM Thursday, September 10, 2020 at CrossPointe Church in Columbus, GA with Rev. Jonathan Moore officiating, according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3478 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.The service will be livestreamed here: https://vimeo.com/455897172. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, those attending the memorial service will be required to wear a face mask and social distancing will be in effect.

Tyler was born June 13, 1991 to James Michael Higgins and Robin Lynn Carmichael Higgins. He graduated from Harris County High School where he loved to play soccer.  He attended Columbus State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree and he also attended Liberty University and graduated with a master’s degree. He worked at Hilton Avenue Community Church as Youth Pastor, was a Student Pastor at The Grove Baptist Church in Madison, Alabama and served at St. Luke in Student Ministries. Tyler was a kind hearted young man and made a difference in many of the lives he touched. He loved videography and taking photographs. He is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Audrey Carmichael and Diana Higgins and mother-in-law, Erin LeAnne Knight.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Anne Knight Higgins of Columbus, GA, his parents, Robin and Mike Higgins of Fortson, GA, brother,  Alex Higgins (Cassie) of Smiths Station, AL, grandfather, Bobby Carmichael of Fortson, GA, father-in-law, Patrick Knight of Columbus, GA, sister-in-law, Natalie Knight of Columbus, GA, nephew, Aiden Higgins and niece, Julia Higgins.
