Dennis was born on November 21st 1961 at the Medical Center in Columbus, GA to parents Ethel and James Dennis Huddleston, Jr. He spent his childhood years in Richland, GA. At the age of 8 he started cutting lawns and doing yard work for his neighbors to earn extra money. By his high-school years he started stocking shelves in a local grocery store part time and eventually ended up in apprenticeship in the meat market. He graduated from Tri-County High-school in 1979.

Over the course of his life he has worked multiple jobs to include farm work and long distance trucking, however he always went back to meat cutting. He moved a few times, even lived in Springfield, OH for a brief time, but always came back to the Richland and Preston, GA area. His last residence was in Cusseta, Ga. He was a loving and very dedicated husband and father who raised two great boys, James Dennis Huddleston III (JD) (May 12, 1995) and Jeremiah Jacob Huddleston (October 12, 2008). He raised JD as a single father for many years before meeting Melanie Amanda Moore, who became his wife on April 7th 2007. Dennis loved the outdoors and fishing. He loved working in the yard and was great at fixing almost anything around the house. He was great at grilling and could make a delicious steak.

He is survived by his sisters, Judy (Scott) Burkes, Brenda (Mark) Cox, nieces, Meagan Burkes, and Hannah (Cody) Bennett and great-nieces, Zoey and Marlee, nephew, Justin (Zana) Cox and great-niece, Pasley, son, James Dennis (Hannah) Huddleston III with grandsons, James Dennis Huddleston IV (JJ), Colton Hunter Huddleston, and Jude Alexander Huddleston, son, Jeremiah Jacob Huddleston (Melanie Amanda).
