James David "Dave" Ledbetter, Sr.

James David "Dave" Ledbetter, Sr., 80, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Columbus Hospice House.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Dave was born October 19, 1938 in Birmingham, AL son of the late George Hanks Ledbetter and Mary Stephens Ledbetter. He was a graduate of Columbus High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He later worked as the Support Manager for Sun Micro Systems. Dave married Martha Mallory Ledbetter in 1957.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Ledbetter Greenholtz.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Ledbetter of Columbus, GA, daughter, Penny Ledbetter (Henry) of Atlanta, GA, son, James David Ledbetter, Jr. of Scotland, grandchildren, Brian, Kevin and Lucas, great-grandchildren, Mila and Alexander, brother, Stephen Ledbetter (Cecelia) of Mobile, AL, sisters, Nancy Ledbetter McFall (Roy) of Louisville, KY and Sally Ledbetter Haywood (Fred) of Oakridge, TN, and 13 nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association 5156 River Rd. M Columbus, GA 31904, Columbus Hospice 7020 Moon Rd. Columbus, GA 31909 or to Britt David Baptist Church 2801 W. Britt David Rd. Columbus, GA 31909.
