Jeanie Crane Adams, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, in Columbus, Georgia. Born on June 26, 1947, Jeanie's life was a remarkable tapestry woven with threads of love, faith, and selflessness.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Edgewood Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Merritt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held following the service at Pinkard Cemetery in Pinkard, AL.
Jeanie was an amazing wife to her devoted husband, Alan Adams. Together, they built a life rich in love and laughter, grounded in a shared commitment to family and community. As a mother, she nurtured and guided her son, Derek Adams, and daughter, Keri Adams Judah, instilling in them the values of kindness, compassion, and resilience. Her influence extended to her daughter-in-law and son-in-law, Oneida Adams and Paul Judah, who cherished her comforting presence. Jeanie was also an adoring grandmother to McKenzie, Logan, and Hayes Judah, whose lives she illuminated with warmth and affection.
As a volunteer, Jeanie exemplified dedication and generosity, serving as a loving foster mother to over 30 babies. Through her selfless acts, she brought hope and comfort to countless lives, demonstrating unwavering support and care. At Edgewood Baptist Church, she shared her passion for teaching, offering guidance and encouragement to those seeking to strengthen their faith. A tireless volunteer, she devoted many hours to the Crisis Pregnancy Center, advocating for unborn children and extending compassion to mothers in need. Jeanie’s gentle spirit resonated with everyone she met, as she provided comfort, wisdom, and an invitation to experience the love of Jesus.
A talented teacher and entrepreneur, Jeanie founded Sweet Treasures, where her legacy of beautiful heirloom children’s clothing came to life. Her creations became cherished garments for many families, and her work was featured in numerous sewing publications, showcasing her exceptional talent. She spent decades imparting her sewing knowledge to others, nurturing both the skill and passion within them, ensuring that her legacy would continue through generations.
Jeanie graduated as valedictorian in Accounting from Auburn University, a testament to her hard work and determination. Though she was quiet and soft-spoken, she possessed a strong sense of confidence and grace that left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her life was a beacon of encouragement and support, and she approached each day with a selflessness that inspired those around her.
Jeanie is survived by her loving husband, Alan Adams; children Derek and Keri; daughter-in-law Oneida and son-in-law Paul; grandchildren McKenzie, Logan, and Hayes; sisters Anne Kelliher, Betsy Hornady, Vicki Allen; brothers-in-law Cliff Hornady and Cantrell Allen; as well as brother and sister-in-law Corky and Joan Adams, Amy Adams, and many cherished nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, William (Bill) Crane and Virginia Crane, and her stepmother, Joanne Crane, who she will join once again in eternal peace.
