Jerry Meeks, Sr., 78, peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 18, 2026surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on May 2, 1948, Jerry was the son of the late Willie and Ruby Meeks. He lived a life marked by hard work, friendship, and unwavering love for his family.

Jerry shared 41 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Sherry Lynn Meeks. Together they built a life filled with cherished memories, laughter, and adventure. One of their greatest joys was traveling together, especially on cruises. They celebrated their anniversaries by setting sail whenever they could, completing an incredible 27 cruises together over the years.

Jerry was a proud father to Jerry "J.J." Meeks, Jr. and his wife, Amanda; Stacey Alyssa Wood; Terrance "T.J." Meeks and his wife, Ashley and his beloved dog Magic. He was also a devoted grandfather to Austin, Brody, and Olivia, each of whom brought him immense pride and happiness.

He is survived by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, brother Ricky Meeks, sisters Bertha "Bobbie" Gibson, Faye Newman, and Annette Meeks Pate, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and friendship.

Jerry was a former member of Central Baptist Church in Phenix City, Alabama. Throughout his life and career, he formed lasting friendships wherever he went and was known for his warm heart, generous spirit, and ability to make others feel welcome. He will be remembered for his love of family, his sense of humor, and the many memories he created with those who knew him.

Though he will be deeply missed, Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be announced by the family at a later time according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
