Jill Johnson Marquis passed away on the evening of July 15, 2018, surrounded by her friends and family.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private family interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Born to William Joseph and Helen Williams Johnson on July 13, 1970 at Fort Benning, Georgia, Jill was a devoted wife to her husband, Shawn Luke Marquis, for 14 years. Jill dedicated herself to the service of others in her role as a nurse. Most recently, she enjoyed catering to her many patients' needs at the Spring Harbor Retirement Community.
Jill is survived by her husband Shawn Marquis, her brother William "Bill" Johnson, II and his wife DeLaney Hurston Johnson, her sister Shirley Johnson Cargill and her husband John Ralston Cargill, IV. Jill had several nieces, including Ivey Cargill Evans (Cal), DeLaney Louise Johnson, Niki Johnson Brown (Charlie), two great-nieces Leann Hadley Davis (Andrew) and Stacie Brown, and one great-great niece Emmie Davis. Jill's beloved nephews included John Ralston Cargill, V, and William Bailey Johnson, as well as great-nephews Nate Hadley, Isaiah Brown, and Kaleb Brown.
