Jimmy Dale Belcher, Sr. 87 of Columbus, GA passed away on Friday April 17, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday April 24, 2026 at 2:00 in McMullen Funeral Home Chapel 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA31907. The family will have a visitation beginning at 1:00 at the funeral home.

Jimmy was born July 22, 1938 in Gracemont, OK to the late Raymond and Pearl Belcher. He retired from the US Army after twenty years of dedicated services. He served his country with pride and dignity. After his tour in the military, Jimmy studied and became a Certified Hearing Aid Specialist. He opened his own practice,Belcher Hearing Aid Service and became lifelong friends with hundreds of his clients. Jimmy was a devoted musician he played in the Army band at many locations including Washington DC. After Jimmy retired from the Army, he continued playing in several bands and played in many venues, these included high school bands, local community programs, assisted living communities and many more. He was a member of many bands, the Dingalings, and the Bob Barr Band to name a few.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Gerlinde Belcher of 67 years of marriage, of Columbus, GA; daughters, Viola Best and Susanne Summerfield, both of Columbus, GA; sons, Charles Belcher (Colleen) of Seale, AL,Randolph Belcher of LaGrange, GA and Jimmy Belcher, Jr. (Kathy) of Eagle River, AK.; and 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren also survive him, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
