Joan was born June 12, 1954, in San Diego, CA, daughter of the late David M. Smith and Janice Lamb Smith. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished spending time with her family. Joan had a warm spirit, a strong faith, and a loving heart. She touched countless lives with her generosity and kindness. Joan will be remembered most for her selfless and giving nature. She had an open heart, an open checkbook, and an open home. She gave without expecting anything in return, offering love, time, and care in ways both big and small.

Joan lived to serve others. Giving wasn’t just something she did, it was who she was.Nothing brought her more joy than being with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life and the center of her world. She leaves a legacy of love, sacrifice, and a giving spirit.

Other than her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her sisters, Claire Smith and Sally Emerson, and her brother, Chris Smith.

Survivors include her loving husband of 51 years, Gene Allmond; sons, Matt Allmond (Michelle) of Phenix City, AL, and Rooster Allmond (Lacey) of Midland, GA; grandchildren, Noah Allmond and Luke Allmond, both of Midland, GA; sisters, Patty Love (Kenny) of Columbus, GA, and Edie King (John) of Gillsville, GA; brother, David Smith (Ree) of FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members who will miss her dearly.
