John was a man of deep intelligence and profound wisdom, qualities that shone through in every conversation he shared. His thoughtful words brought a sense of calm and comfort to those fortunate enough to know him. He was loyal, trustworthy, and possessed a generous soul that always placed the needs of others before his own. Strong-minded and courageous, John faced life’s challenges with an unyielding spirit, inspiring all who witnessed his journey.
Despite the physical hurdles he overcame—living a fulfilling, joyful life while wheelchair-bound, battling a pituitary tumor, and wrestling with countless kidney infections—John’s positive outlook never wavered. He fought valiantly, refusing to be defined or broken by his health struggles. Instead, he shone brightly as a beacon of hope, strength, and unwavering love.
John’s passions were as vibrant as his character. He delighted in the thrill of video games and brought laughter and playful banter to gatherings with his humorous trash talk. A true lover of martial arts cinema, he cherished Kung Fu movies and was an ardent fan of Dragon Ball Z. John also enjoyed the thrill of all sports, the intrigue of cooking shows, but above all, he treasured the time spent with friends and family, where his heart truly belonged.
He is survived by his beloved mother, Pamela Olexa; his caring brother, James J Olexa Jr.; his sister, Michele Olexa Yaksh; his nephew, Michael Teel; nieces Jasmine Olexa and Haley Yaksh; great nephew Luka James Teel; and cousin Richard Gaulding. These cherished relationships underscore the profound love and connection John nurtured throughout his life.
John’s father, James J Olexa Sr., aunt and godmother Debbie Olexa Mashburn, and his forever dog Boochie preceded him in death, their memories eternally intertwined with his.
John Michael Olexa leaves behind too many wonderful memories to capture in a single moment. Each memory reflects his remarkable spirit—intelligent, loving, strong, and endlessly brave. He will forever be remembered for the comfort he offered, the strength he embodied, and the unwavering love he gave so freely.
In remembering John, we honor a life lived fully and bravely, a soul that touched many hearts and left an indelible mark on the world. His legacy of resilience, love, and wisdom will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know him.
