Josephine Montgomery Hammock

Josephine Montgomery Hammock, 96, of Newnan, GA, died Saturday, December 3 2016 at Ashley Glen.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Dr. John Riley officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hammock was born August 5, 1920 in Edison, GA, daughter of the late Joe and Jennie Montgomery. She was a member of and attended Beallwood Baptist Church and Sunday School for 50 plus years. Mrs. Hammock never knew a stranger and was always willing to help others. She retired from the Muscogee County School District having worked in the Lunch Room.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Hammock.
Survivors include her daughter, Joan Duncan (Ralph) of Newnan, GA; grandchildren, Jay Duncan (Lori) Lisa Nicholson (James) both of Newnan, GA and Tracy Duncan of Sugar Hill, GA and great-grandchildren, Skylar, Trae, Gill, Duncan, Hannah Grace, Marli and Brody.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, 1504 Macedonia Road Newnan, GA 30263.
