Joyce Maxine Slattery, 85 of Columbus died Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Saint Francis Hospital.
A Celebration Of Life visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Boulevard in Columbus. A private burial will be held in Riverdale Cemetery.
Mrs. Slattery was born August 15, 1931 in Columbus, GA. She was the daughter of the late Wiley Winston and Jenell Grace Mewbourn Brown. She was a legal secretary for Charles Everet and then became a homemaker. Mrs. Slattery loved to travel, to play board games, to work Sudoku and crossword puzzles. She loved gardening, Atlanta Falcons Football and coffee, but what she loved most of all was her family.
Mrs. Slattery was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Wayne Slattery, sister, Barbara McCorkle and her brother-in-law, Jesse McCorkle.
Survivors include her four daughters, Kathy Davenport and her husband George of Destin, FL, Karen Pearce and her husband Rusty, Kim Foxworth and Theresa Slattery all of Columbus, GA and one son, Pete Slattery and his wife Diane of Pine Mountain Valley, GA, two sisters, Grace Butler and her husband Fred of Ocala, FL, Sherry Brown of Jonesboro, GA, 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
