With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Kenneth “Butch” L. Carter Jr, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and quiet strength that will not be forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his parents, who welcomed him home with open arms.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Kay Ballentine Carter of Hamilton, GA; his loving daughter, Jennifer Jones (Paul) of Waverly Hall, GA; and his two cherished grandsons, Justin Jones of Waverly Hall, GA, Jason Jones of Cataula, GA, who were a constant source of pride and joy in his life. He also leaves behind a lifelong friend, Danny Anderson of Hamilton, GA, who was more than a friend - he was a brother in every sense that mattered.

Butch will be remembered for the way he showed up for the people he loved – with steadiness, humor and a heart that made others feel safe and valued. Wheter through simple moments or lasting memories, he built a life rooted in connection, and those who knew him were better because of it.

His presence will be deeply missed, but the love he gave will continue to live on in the family he cherished and the friendships he held so close.

Private funeral services will be held at Parkhill Cemetery.
