SGT (Ret) Lawrence C. Palmer, 90, of Columbus, GA, died Friday October 4, 2019 at St Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday October 7, 2019 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA. A private interment will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
SGT Palmer was born October 2, 1929 in El Paso, TX to the late Frances Overman Palmer. After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps he joined the U.S. Army where he retired in 1968.
SGT Palmer was survived by his faithful companion, Suk Bun Simpson of Columbus, GA, two daughters, Beverly P. Barnes and Belinda P. Johnson, two brothers, Paul Overman and Robert "Bobby" Overman, and two grandchildren.
