Leon James Williams, Jr., 65, of Savannah, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on December 23, 2025. He was born on November 21, 1960, in Savannah to the late Alvenia White and Leon J. Williams, Sr.
Leon was educated in the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System and proudly graduated from H.V. Jenkins High School, Class of 1979. During his time at Jenkins, he was a dedicated athlete who played both football and baseball, forming lifelong friendships and memories on and off the field.
After graduation, Leon served in the United States Army from 1979 to 1993, including service during the Persian Gulf War. He attained the rank of Sergeant and received multiple commendations for his leadership and dedication. Following his military career, he worked for the Georgia Department of Corrections from 1993 until his retirement in 2016.
Leon was a devoted father to his three children: his daughter, Shana M. Williams of Savannah, GA; and his sons, Ky K. Williams (Jenalyn) of Atlanta, GA, and Kodi K. Williams (Tisha) of Dallas, TX. He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Zoë L. White of Savannah, GA, and Reese Williams, Koa Williams, and Leon Williams, all of Atlanta, GA.
He leaves behind cherished memories that will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, siblings, and a host of loving family members and friends. Leon’s legacy of strength, humor, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
