Ms. Linda Sue (née Sellers) Murphy was brought into this world on February 22, 1942, in Phenix City, Alabama, and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Pentecost Sunday, May 24, 2026, in Columbus, Georgia, at the age of 84. Ms. Murphy was preceded in death by her husbands, James Leon “Jim” Murphy and Horace Linwood McCain, and by her daughters, Ramona Lee Newman and Wendelyn Teresa “Wendy” (née Bolin) Tyler. She is survived by her son-in-law, William Wesley Tyler Jr. who was husband to her daughter Wendy and father of her grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth, Haden Levi, and Hadlie Grace Tyler, all of Columbus. Her surviving siblings include Eloise Blanton, Joe Larry (wife Patricia) Sellers, both of Columbus, and Patricia Horne of Phenix City.
Ms. Murphy loved college football and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. Go Dawgs!

A private viewing for Ms. Murphy will be held at McMullen Funeral Home; she will then be laid to rest amongst family at Parkhill Cemetery.
Ms. Murphy was one of the almost eight million Americans who live with dementia. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Linda’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, where a tribute page has been made in her honor.
