Louise Hammock Vale, 91, of Columbus, GA died Monday, April 1, 2019 at her home.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, April 5, 2019 at Riverdale Cemetery 1000 Victory Dr. Columbus, GA 31901 with Rev. Chuck Griffith officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Vale was born July 4, 1927 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Hardy and Minnie Hammock. She was born during the Great Depression and passed along a practical, common sense approach to life. She worked hard and retired at 63 where she then helped raise her grandchildren.
She believed in going to church, working, saving money, turning off lights, exercise and fiber, lots of fiber.
We loved her a lot and we are so lucky to have her for so long. We will really miss her but knows she will live on in our hearts and memories.
Survivors include her 4 children, Ricky (Karen), Tina (George), John (Sharon) and Margaret (Charlie), 5 brothers and sisters, Harold (Margaret), Bud (Ginny), Johnny (Carol), Betty (Kenneth) and Willis, 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
