Mandy Arzella Peeler passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, after a long, hard battle with lung cancer and COPD. She was just 38 days shy of her 77th birthday.

Born November 1, 1948, in Spartanburg, North Carolina, Mandy spent her early years in the loving care of her grandparents. At only 17, she married her soulmate, Ralph Edward Peeler, and together they began a journey that would take them across states, continents, and decades. The life of a military wife suited Mandy’s adventurous spirit—she called Gaffney, South Carolina home for a while, then Germany, then Columbus, Georgia, then Alaska, and finally back to Columbus again. Each move brought its own stories and friends, and Mandy embraced them all with open arms.

Germany was a place Mandy loved to remember: the food, the historical landmarks, the thrill of exploring new cultures, journeying to other bordering countries, the shopping—and, always, the adventure of sharing it with Ralph. Above all, she was proud of her husband and proud to stand by his side, wherever duty called.

Mandy was a beacon of love and kindness, touching everyone she met with her quick wit, infectious smile, and generous spirit. Though she never had children of her own, her heart belonged to her adopted granddaughter and her family, whom she cherished and spoiled at every opportunity. Her home was always open to furry friends, who brought her endless joy and companionship.

Mandy’s laughter was legendary—she was the friend you could count on for a good time, especially if there was a margarita involved at her favorite Mexican restaurant. Her feisty, fun-loving nature made every gathering brighter, and her gentle words lifted spirits even in the darkest moments.

She is survived by her beloved granddaughter, her extended family, and her devoted pets, all of whom will miss her dearly. Mandy was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, her parents, and her grandparents.

Those lucky enough to have known Mandy will remember her warmth, her humor, and the way her smile could light up any room. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. As Mandy would say—raise a glass, share a story, and know that she’s smiling down on us all.
